Considering all of the aftermarket companies that are popping up that will convert your Prius to a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), have you wondered why auto manufactures aren’t rolling PHEVs off the assembly line yet? I know I have. I’d really like to own a PHEV - the idea of a car that can drive around in town for 40 or 50 miles without firing its gasoline engine just seems really cool to me.
UQM Showcases 2 Hybrid Electric Future Heavy Truck Demonstrators

UQM Technologies, Inc., a developer of alternative energy technologies used to create advanced vehicles, earlier announced that two hybrid electric future heavy truck demonstrators built by Armor Holdings and powered by UQM electric propulsion systems have begun Military Utility Assessment (MUA) Testing this month.
Field Testing Phase of Escape Plug-in Hybrid Started in Chicago

The Chicago Department of Fleet Management will begin their field testing of a Ford Escape plug-in hybrid vehicle in the following days. The plug-in hybrid vehicle is the product of the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle Project and it is sponsored by All Cell Technologies, LLC.

Volkswagen Brief History

When people talk about Volkswagen, the first thing that usually pops up in their mind is the ever-popular Type 1 or Beetle model. The German-based car manufacturing company first entered the scene during the late 1930’s when Adolf Hitler asked Ferdinand Porsche Sr. to design an automobile that would be more accessible to the common man. The result was the very first Beetle (known that time as the KdF-Wagen), which despite only having less than 200 parts, served as Volkswagen’s foundation throughout its history.

New Audi TT awarded 2007 World Car Design of the Year

The Chevrolet Hybrid From General Motors

General Motors Corporation (GM) has been working on alternative automobile technology for some years now. The company spearheaded E-85 fuel usage in cars and the first to use turbochargers. As part of this company tradition, GM is working on developing its latest version of the Chevrolet hybrid, a hybrid version of the full-sized Tahoe SUV.
