Volvo car parts may seem endless and varied, at least for those who are not entirely familiar with such matters. However, with a wee bit of aid from experts and professionals in the field, you won’t have any trouble finding the right auto component that your car has been hankering for.

Driving a car is expensive. You have car loans, constantly rising gasoline prices, gas taxes, bridge tolls and of course auto insurance. Not surprisingly, it’s expected to get more and more expensive in time. The cost of buying or leasing an automobile is also on the rise, and we haven’t even talked about the normal wear and tear and normal maintenance costs associated with keeping your automobile running efficiently. Needless to say, many are now using more and more alternative transportation avenues to defray traditional costs.

Most drivers underestimate the importance of a car hood. Vehicle owners usually look down at the hood as just an engine cover and even as an obstruction before checking up an engine. Basically, a hood is used to provide protection to an engine automobile. But what most people do not understand is that, the hood can boost an automobile’s speed and performance. In a nutshell, the right hood will help a driver increase speed and reduce the effects of wind on the car.

Opel and Peugeot are two of Europe’s most environment-conscious automobile manufacturers. It is not surprising that both these carmakers have undertaken earnest efforts to produce vehicles that are not only fuel-efficient, but spew far lesser emissions. With this in mind, the makers at Opel and Peugeot designed, developed, assembled, and equipped catalytic converters to their vehicles.

With the increasing concern about environmental issues such as pollution and global warming, as well as the unbelievable rise in the price of gasoline, it is no wonder that hybrid vehicles are gaining popularity. Hybrid cars have been relatively common for years, with hybrid Sport Utility Vehicles in close competition, but what about hybrid trucks? We don’t see those too often. Automotive manufacturing giant General Motors, however, believes that will change.

A recent editorial in the San Jose Mercury News focused on the pollution from diesel engines and the effect this is having on California’s air quality. “When it comes to air pollution from vehicles, it doesn’t get more noxious than the soot from diesel engines. The black particles accumulate in people’s lungs, contributing to asthma, heart problems and thousands of deaths in California every year.

Considering all of the aftermarket companies that are popping up that will convert your Prius to a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), have you wondered why auto manufactures aren’t rolling PHEVs off the assembly line yet? I know I have. I’d really like to own a PHEV - the idea of a car that can drive around in town for 40 or 50 miles without firing its gasoline engine just seems really cool to me.

You hear about automotive recalls all the time in the newspaper, on the Internet, as well as on the nightly news. Amazingly, one in 12 cars traveling the roads today were recalled for one reason or another in 2003. However, even more amazing is the fact that only one third of the owners of the recalled vehicles chose to take their car in for the needed repairs.

By: Terry Brown, Fri Sep 22nd, 2006
Overheating is one of the most common breakdowns that autos encounter during the summer season. It happens when the temperature of the coolant exceeds the normal operating temperature range of the engine. Overheating has many causes. Idling under hot weather for prolonged periods can wreak havoc on the cars cooling system, because the water pump doesn’t turn fast enough. Thus the coolant is not circulated, as it should be.

If you have children, or are planning to have children, one of the most important thing you need to think about purchasing is a car seat. There are many child car seats to choose from, and making sure you have the right one is very important.

Japan has been producing automobiles for almost as long as America, to the surprise of some. As the American automobile industry has changed, so has Japan’s. To this day, however, Japan still has the highest concentration of automakers of any country on earth: nine to be exact. Three, however, are real standouts producing not only high quality vehicles but reaching well beyond Japan to all corners of the planet. Let’s take a look at the top three and how they are impacting the North American market.

When you lease an automobile, you are paying for the depreciation from the final sale price to the residual value once your lease term is finished. Aside from your money factor and residual value, the “capitalized cost” is one of the main variables of the auto lease that controls what your monthly payment will be and if you’ll get the best deal.
